NEW YORK — New ‘CANDY’ cartoon cartoon spoofing ‘DUCKTALES’ by Walt Disney hit shelves Monday, with the brand’s latest line featuring an adorable duck and a bunch of cereal.
The cartoon, which is available in select retailers, follows the classic cartoons of ‘Ducky’ and ‘Dixieland’ and features the voice of Mickey Mouse.
Disney’s newest line of ‘COLD FALL’ cereal, available at more than 3,600 stores, is one of the company’s most anticipated offerings.
It comes in four flavors: vanilla, lemon, chocolate and coconut.
According to the company, the flavors feature “an irresistible blend of flavors that will make any kid want to try them again and again.”
Disney announced plans to sell its cereal at $1.99 a scoop and in the cereal aisle at $4.99 for the first week of March.
There are also new flavors for ‘Minnie Mouse’ and other Disney characters, which will also be available in the stores.
“Candy is here to stay, but the future of cereal has never been more bright,” said Phil Kessel, director of retail strategy at the Food & Beverage Research Institute.
Kessel added that the company is expanding the “Duck Duck” line to include more varieties of cereals, including more than 40 different cereals in four different flavors: “Pumpkin, Sweet Potato, Cream, and Coconut,” for the youngest children, “Blueberry and Banana,” for older kids, “Biscuit, Chocolate, and Cherry,” and “Pecan, Nutmeg and Cinnamon,” for adults.
Among the new products are: An iced-cream “Baking Muffin” (which is available at $3.99) and iced iced mousse (which can be purchased at $2.49 for a 12-ounce container) that are both available in flavors including vanilla, sweet potato, coconut, and coconut milk.
Additionally, iced almond milkshake (which has a chocolate flavor and is available for $4, $2, and $1) will be available at select stores starting on March 15.
New “Breadsticks” (available for $1 each at select retailers) are made of soft-serve biscuits, and are available in a range of flavors including strawberry, caramel, strawberry, banana, chocolate, and vanilla.
An assortment of iced “Creamy Cream” (a blend of peanut butter, milk, cream, and sugar) will also start to be available as an iced dessert.
