The number of people on cereal boxes is at an all-time high.
A record 5.4 million boxes of cereal were sold last year, and the trend is expected to continue, with the number of boxes expected to hit an all time high of 5.7 million by 2019, according to figures released by cereal maker Kelloggs.
The company has also said that its cereals will be made in an automated factory in Australia by 2021, where the machines will be used to process cereal ingredients.
“In Australia, it’s an all new machine,” Kellogg’s said in a statement.
“There are no human workers and no assembly lines.
Instead, the machinery is operated by robots, which are automated, meaning no humans are needed.”
A Kellogg spokesman said that the company had always been focused on creating cereals that consumers could “get their hands on in the shortest possible time and feel good about”.
“In the world of cereal, we are all consumers, so it’s important that we have the right product for the right consumer,” he said.
